So this is the Preikestolen I was talking about :-)

A big cuboid in Norway. Okay, a bit bigger cuboid. In fact the edge is 600m high above the fjord. And no effort in safety were wasted here ^^

Very strange feeling then standing near the edge, or lying on the stone looking over the edge..

Unfortunately as you can see.. we were in a big cloud so we rarely saw anything of the great view over the fjord.
But I bet not that many people can tell that they have seen the Preikestolen in such weather conditions :D
Was yet impressive :-) And cold :D I have a funny photo of my girlfriend glaring at me.. but I won't upload that one :P



Taken w/ Pentax K20D + Edited in Gimp. This time a bit stronger, as you probably can tell ^^

I understand that.. I moved lying on the ground and very slow to that edge..
maybe it was fortunate that I didn't see all the 600 meters down to the fjord :D (600 meters are about 2000 ft)

yea that would be dizzying! When I was young I would climb antenna towers and work with one hand putting up antennas.. but now in a place like that I always feel like someone is coming up behind me and I'll lose my balance lol.. yet..I love to fly! hahah go figure

That dizzying reminds me of a interesting theory Douglas Adams mentioned in one of his novels.
He says that some scientists believe that there were birds among our ancestors so every time we are standing on an edge something inside us says 'Go spread your wings and fly' whereas the rest of the mind is trying to stop that :D
